Complaint #1775066 submitted on 02/05/2016 relating to Harris & Harris, Ltd.. Complaint relates to Debt collection I do not know - Communication tactics Frequent or repeated calls.
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Friday 5th February 2016.
Harris & Harris calls both our home numbers at least twice a day by robot-calls. They do NOT say what company or debt or amount or anything that would help us identify if they have a legitimate claim or purpose. Their phone number zooms past at the front of the call before one can pick up a pencil AND they do not repeat it at the end of the call. Their " caller ID '' number, when one tries to call it back, goes to some sort of electric buzz tone ( fax or hearing-impaired device? ) On the one occasion I managed to get a number down -- I called back to have an automated system place me on HOLD. After XXXX frustrating minutes ... I hung up.
These have got to be the WORST debt collectors on record! They make it nearly impossible to discern their legitimacy or the debt or the number to call back. When you do call back -- they are not available. And yet ...
Their robots keep CALLING AND CALLING AND CALLING AND CALLING. Day after day, week after week. It all seems to be done by automated systems that have no judgment, ability to interact or to update or question.
HOW do we STOP them from filling up our answering machine with their automaton snippet-messages and from tying up our phone lines? When will a human contact us or answer their own lines?
