About a week ago I received what I thought was a letter intended for me from Rash-Curtis & Associates. While my son and I share the same name, he is just XXXX and graduated from high school XX/XX/XXXX and therefore does not yet receive business mail. Upon realizing it was a collection letter related to medical treatment my son received when he was between 16-17 years old, I called to discuss the matter only to be told that the letter was not intended for me, but rather my now XXXX year old son, who they insisted, despite my refutations, is XXXX years. He is not. He was born XX/XX/XXXX. Nevertheless, it seems to me that his current age is irrelevant since he was a legal minor when the services were delivered and his mother and I signed all documents and it was my wife 's Insurance that paid the bulk of the bill. In fact, since he was a minor, he did not even have a choice in the matter. His mother and I made all decisions and told him what would occur - like most parents in similar situations. It simply can not be true that he is now personally responsible for the cost of the services. A representative from Rash-Curtis insisted that my son is personally responsible for the medical expenses and threatened to make a negative reporting to my sons not yet established credit file. Rash-Curtis & Associates is calling me on my private business line in my residence every 3-4 hours. When I spoke to them, I explained that the reason they have the number they are using to contact me is because I provided it to the hospital during the document signing process related to my sons medical treatment. They insisted that it is the number my son provided and that my signature on the documents is really my son 's signature which is ridiculous. They insist on speaking with my son and pursuing him for a debt incurred by his mother and I. We are not denying that we owe the debt and we intend to pay it.
