First National Collection Bureau, Inc. Complaint: Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed

Debt collection I do not know

Complaint #1454561 submitted on 07/07/2015 relating to First National Collection Bureau, Inc.. Complaint relates to Debt collection I do not know - Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine.

Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Tuesday 7th July 2015.

Narrative (may be redacted).

I received a letter from First National Collection Bureau , Inc. ( creditor " XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX '' ) representing that I owe a debt to XXXX XXXX. I called FNCB, and a representative said it was a XXXX that I had opened in XX/XX/XXXX and closed in XX/XX/XXXX. I never opened a XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX, nor does such an item appear on any of my credit reports. When I contacted XXXX XXXX, they represented that, not only do they not recognize the account number included on the FNCB letter, but I never had an account with them, and further, that they only carry XXXX, not XXXX, and thus the debt could never have existed.

I would like to note that, when I told the representative from FNCB that I dispute the claim, he asked what exactly I was disputing, and I told him that I disputed that the debt ever existed, and their representative said he would report it to the original creditor ( which is obviously impossible since the original creditor has no knowledge of said debt ). I doubt, therefore, that the employees of the company know that they are fraudulently attempting to collect on nonexistent debt ( s ).
