Complaint #1443504 submitted on 06/29/2015 relating to Citibank. Complaint relates to Credit card - Delinquent account .
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Thursday 9th July 2015.
I entered into an agreement with ATTUniversal/Citicard to pay a credit card debt, The agreement was negotiated by XXXX XXXX XXXX and the payments were made thru them. I have copies of my signed agreement from XXXX and the agreement letter from Citibank.
The original contract stated that I would pay Citi {$570.00} per month for a total of 12 months. I have copies of the front and back of each of the 12 cleared checks. The checks are dated XX/XX/XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXX. Since the final payment, Citibank has continued to report to the three credit bureaus that I owe them {$10000.00} in spite of my proof of the agreed-upon payoff of 12 x {$570.00} = {$6900.00}. Twice, I have sent them XXXX 1 certified return receipt mail and 1 fax XXXX copies of the cancelled checks and both the XXXX and Citibank agreement letters. They have never acknowledged receipt of any of them. The account has been moved to four different collection agencies who can not provide proof of the check that allegedly did not clear. They just repeat what Citibank has told them " The XXXX XXXX check was returned for insufficient funds. And I, once again, owe them the original amount of $ XXXX. " There was no XX/XX/XXXX check. The XXXX and final payment was XX/XX/XXXX. I have repeatedly asked for proof of the NSF check but have never received it.
I have written the credit reporting agencies asking them to remove the incorrect information, to no avail.
Citibank continues to say the NSF check broke our contract and I still owe them the {$10000.00}. I would like to see this item removed from my credit report and marked " paid as agreed. '' Please note this has been going in for more than a year and been circulated to four different collection agencies with NO help from Citibank.
