I went to XXXX XXXX once. I paid a fee on the day of the appointment. The office was suppose to bill my insurance company. The office did not bill the insurance, and sent my account to collections. I notified the collection agency that my account should have been billed to XXXX. XXXX XXXX finally filed my claim. I owed an outstanding balance, which I quickly paid. However, I refused to pay the late fee. I wrote in my letter that I would make payment in full less the late fee. I wrote that the check enclosed would constitute payment in full. The collection agency accepted the payment but billed me again for a late fee, and the late fee had increased. I wrote them back again explaining that the late fee was not my fault, XXXX XXXX failed to file the claim. The collection agency sent the late fee claim to the credit bureau and my credit score has decreased.
