Complaint #1428112 submitted on 06/18/2015 relating to Army and Air Force Exchange Service. Complaint relates to Credit card - Credit determination .

Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Thursday 18th June 2015.

Narrative (may be redacted).

XX/XX/XXXX I sent for a credit report. When I got the credit report it stated that my balance with Military Star Credit Card was {$6600.00}. Since I never charged anything around that date ( XXXX XXXX ) I was sent to the Military Star Fraud Dept. The fraud rep told me that he would be sending me copies of the transactions and I would be able to prove, with a signed photo ID, that the signature was not mine. That was the last I heard from Military Star. No mail. No calls. nothing. My son got very sick XX/XX/XXXX. I had much more to do than worry about Military Star. My son, age XXXX, lost his battle with XXXX in XXXX XXXX. In all my new credit reports I noticed that I had an outstanding balance with Military Star for {$6600.00}. It also said " account closed '' " no payment due ''. In XXXX of XXXX I called Military Star to ask about this posting on my credit report. They took the opportunity to update my contact info. I heard nothing from them. In XXXX of XXXX my credit scores drop by more than XXXX points. In checking my credit card I saw where Military Star had listed my account as 90 days overdo. Please keep in mind I had heard nothing from them. I called Military Star, sent to the fraud dept. where I was told to call my congressman and I was obligated to pay the outstanding balance of {$6800.00}. If I did not they would garnish my V.A. XXXX payments. I spoke to a XXXX XXXX XXXX ( head of the fraud dept. at Military Star ). He stated he would investigate my allegations and get back to me. Of course, he did n't. I waited several days after trying to contact XXXX XXXX and one of his assistants that XXXX XXXX had prepared but never sent to me. The assistant told me that XXXX XXXX had decided that my fraud claim was not valid and I had to pay the {$6800.00} that was charged fraudulently. No reason. No explanation. I then sent an e-mail to the fraud dept. stating I was XXXX, on a XXXX, the day the XXXX where made. From XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX did not try to communicate with me by any of the means they could have contacted me with. I tried XXXX XXXX and they too ignored me. Due to the late payment on my charge account in ( with Military Star XXXX XXXX XXXX ) I was listed as 90 days late on my payments. Again I was never told by Military Star that I owed this money ( no Billing statements, no phone calls. After I called Military Star I was informed that if I did n't make the payments my Veterans Comp would be garnished throuh my months deposit of my Veterasns Admin XXXX Comp. I paid what I could and transferred the balance to another credit card. No amount of reasoning with Military Star yielded a result. I was not aware of your services until yesterday. I hope the can get some positive result. My name is XXXX XXXX, address XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, SS # XXXX. I am a XXXX service W/connected info at I was would proceed I always contacted person.COULD with no certain outcome. # contact me at XXXX. Thank You XXXX XXXX
