I applied for a bank account with Chase and passed my credit check and got everything set up and 10 days later I get a letter from the fraud department saying my account had been closed due to unusual activity on my account! It gave me a XXXX number to call to resolve any outstanding issues. I called and no one could tell me why my account was closed just that The Executive Office had run an indepth check and something about a Chase or XXXX XXXX account in 2013. Also they told me they could close any account without reason they just did n't want to do business with me! Very rude. They told me to contact XXXX for a report and when the report came back there was nothing negative on the report that would stop me for getting a bank account. They had already submitted my direct deposit for my Social Security and due to them closing my account my check for XXXX is going to be late and it will result in my bills being paid late and affecting my credit score. No one told me they can deny you a checking account just because they can! But again the person that I talked to was very rude! This policy should be changed and everyone has the right to know why they were denied a checking account! Without being told that out of the blue we can deny you for any reason without telling you why!!!
