A man first called my employer 's office, purporting to be from a law firm, Harbor Firm Acquisitions. The office manager refused to allow him to speak to me, told him I was not allowed to receive personal calls at work, and then hung up on him. The man then proceeded to call back XXXX times, and to be so harassing, the office manager had to instruct all other personnel in the office not to answer the telephone until he finally ceased calling.
A week later, a woman from Harbor Firm Acquisitions called my personal cellphone from a telephone line that spoofed the telephone number of the local county courthouse, and left a message on my cellphone stating that she was trying to arrange delivery of legal documents in reference to a debt. Rather than giving me a local telephone number to call for information, she then gave me the number of the lawyer 's office - Harbor Firm Acquisitions. I called the court house, rather than the lawyer 's office, and was told that no such person existed at that number, and that no documents were waiting for delivery to me. I have since received no physical paperwork from their office.
This week, the man from Harbor Firm Acquisitions is again calling my cellphone and my work number. He has refused to give me any number other than an XXXX number ( so I can mail or fax a request to cease all communications, except in writing ). I ca n't get a written verification of the debt, to see whether this is something I owe, or is instead part of a debt collection scam.
