My name is XXXX XXXX XXXX and I 'm writing to you because I believe that I XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is violating my rights under the FCRA. Approximately three years ago, I pulled my credit report to check for accuracy. The first credit reporting agency that I got report from was XXXX. Upon reviewing my report, I noticed that XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX had an account in collections on my report. Since I did n't understand why this account would be listed on my report, I immediately disputed the item through XXXX XXXX stating that this account was n't mines. In addition to this, I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to further investigate as to why this account was reporting to me since I never attended their college. While speaking to XXXX XXXX XXXX college billing department, they informed me that this was from registration in 1991. I informed them that I never registered with their college to attend because I was attending XXXX during that time. They said that it did n't matter and that they were not going to make any changes to my account. I started wondering if this was fair since the account was so old and they never place this account in collections until a few years ago. Let me be clear that this is not my account and that I never attended this school and this is not related to any student loan account. I 'm wondering why am I still dealing with account that 's over XXXX years old. I have since disputed this account with XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX with the same outcome in which XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX confirms the account and leaves this account on my credit report. I never received any written notification regarding this account in XXXX years and yet it 's on my credit report. I feel as if I 'm a victim of this college violating the fair credit reporting act. I was told the attorney advice to report this school to your agency to try to get some resolution and compensation for XXXX XXXX XXXX violating my rights. Here is an account that 's over XXXX years old and yet every time they validate this leaves this account registering as a negative item on my credit report.
