My son acquired a student loan but was unable to finish school. ( attended XXXX out of the XXXX months ) The school collected the entire amount of the loan. He defaulted on his loan and it fell back on me. I attempted to make payments but my wife was not working at the time and all of our bills fell on my shoulders. I contacted XXXX XXXX but they only lowered the monthly amount due by a few dollars. I contacted them again with no result. The loan grew to double the amount from XXXX up to XXXX. I 'm still on my own paying bills and can not afford the amount that they are garnishing from my wages every XXXX weeks. I have not received a raise in XXXX years. All of our medical, dental, vision, homeowners and automotive insurance is taken out of my pay. Water, electric, gas etc is also what I pay each month.
