a collection company by the name of ATG is collecting for a loan that was charged to my name. I explained that the loan was changed by the company in error because I never took the on line classes and was to be cancelled but they did not cancel the loan at all. Original loan was last paid in XX/XX/XXXX but this collection company wants to keep it on my report from the date it was put into collection from the original debtor not the time it was last paid.
I explained that I read that bad charge offs come out after 7 years from last payment, but they want to put it from last date of transferred to a collection company. Spoke to original debtor and ATG and both of them confirm the same thing.
I am in the process of using my credit and this debt is showing up that it was open again in XX/XX/XXXX vs the original date of XX/XX/XXXX - from the time it was again put into collection
