Complaint #1750992 submitted on 01/20/2016 relating to Citibank. Complaint relates to Credit card - Other .
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Wednesday 20th January 2016.
While married, I added husband as authorized user to Citibank card. Trying to now remove him from the card and they state that it is a joint account. I asked how it was a joint account, as I have owned the credit card prior to knowing him. They stated only way to have joint account is to have XXXX applied for card at the same time. I have been a cardmember for 14 years, they tell me, and I 've only known my ex for 8 years. there is no absolute way we signed up for this card together. In fact, I never had a joint account with him at all accept for his business checking account. We never had this as a joint account and they refuse to remove him. In order to do so, I would have to pay off the XXXX balance, which i can not do, or close the card and reapply for a new XXXX. But the second option would still have us in the same situation. This is hurting his credit now by having this card showing as a large amount.
