Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Wednesday 24th February 2016.
I was applying for a loan yesterday when I was told by the loan officer that there was a collection item on my credit report for {$36.00}. I was given the collection company 's name and phone number and I proceeded to call Quality Asset Recovery immediately. I was told by the collector that the debt was for a medical XXXX and that I now owed {$38.00}. I asked why I was never sent a invoice from the collection company for I have lived at the same address for over 14 years and he had no response but to tell me I must have been billed from the XXXX party. So I immediately paid the bill over the phone with the collection company to get this item off my credit report and then called the XXXX party company to find out what happened? For I have had the same medical insurance ( HMO ) for over 16 years and with my HMO I am only responsible for paying co-pays so I do n't know why I would be charged in the first place? After talking with the customer service representative from the XXXX I was told the debt was from XXXX and that they did n't find it until XXXX and that because it was a billing error that I was only sent ONE bill which was printed on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and mailed out a few days later. I was also told that the debt of {$18.00} and that I should have only paid the collection company that amount. So know I am really getting upset for the bill is supposedly from XXXX, I only was mailed XXXX invoice and now I just paid over 100 % of the initial debt owed. I did n't know a collection company had the right to charge over a 100 % in collection fees. And again the company ca n't use the excuse that some of that money was used to try and contact me for I had received NOTHING from Quality Asset Recovery, which again was confirmed by the collection representative that I spoke with.
