I was denied credit because the telephone number listed in my " fraud alert '' is old and incorrect. On XXXX XXXX, 2016 I disputed the incorrect phone number online and submitted the required proof of address via USPS first class mail and the phone number still did not get changed. My correct home phone number and cell phone number are included in the attachments as are the required proof of address documents. I tried uploading this information 3 times on XXXX/XXXX/2016 to Experian 's online dispute system and it would not accept it. I received a new report " correction summary '' dated XXXX/XXXX/16 from Experian last evening ( XXXX/XXXX/16 ) via USPS and it still has an invalid phone number in my " fraud alert ''.
On XXXX/XXXX/16 XXXX, with whom I applied for credit, requested that I telephone Experian and get the invalid telephone number corrected. I could not get through to a human being at Experian and their automated system did n't seem to offer the proper options after numerous attempts.
