Narrative (may be redacted).

I have worked extremely hard to improve my credit ; however, it appears as though my efforts are in vain. Everyone hits a rough patch in life and I 've definitely had my share but I worked tirelessly to repair my credit. I made tough sacrifices but it seems as though I can not get ahead. My co-worker filed bankruptcy a few years ago and has a better credit score than me. I could have done the same but eventually someone stills pay for that " free get out of jail '' card. She just refinanced on her existing home with a lower interest rate because of her great credit score. In the XXXX XXXX of last year my credit score was over XXXX with many outstanding debt. I began to pay them down and focus on home ownership. Since I 've paid down most and been current on my debt I ca n't get my score over XXXX. A loan officer pulled my credit a couple days ago and here 's what it had to say : Serious delinquencies and public record or collection filed, too many inquiries last 12 months, Time since delinquency is too recent or unknown. Now to the credit of the bureaus I do have XXXX liens in which one was released. However, it 's the same information that 's been on my report for several years. The one that 's released has not been removed from my credit reports. To add insult to the injury I tried calling the bureaus. Have you tried lately??? It 's a joke!!! Credit Bureaus and Credit Reporting Agencies rank in what the top XXXX % of complaints yet they go unmonitored and unaccountable for information they report. My goal in life is to lend, not borrow and owe no man nothing! I hope the person reading my email do n't take offense. I 'm frustrated and disappointed that I 'm penalized because I tried to do the right thing by paying my debts. If I filed bankruptcy I would be in a better position. My co-worker is just one of many stories I 've heard. The message of it 's better to bankrupt than to pay up is being heard across America. Will someone take a stand and make these agencies be more accountable for the information they report and more accessible to the pubic?
