XX/XX/2015 my XXXX store credit card was declined at a XXXX. It turned out that I had missed my XX/XX/2015 payment by accident because I never received my bill. Once I learned this I immediately paid my bill in full ( posted XX/XX/2015 ). When I went online to pay the bill, I saw a message that XXXX was " actively collecting a debt. '' ( Yes, after only missing one payment. ) In XX/XX/XXXX ( after I had paid my debt in full ) I began receiving messages on my cell phone from " Merchants Credit '' XXXX stating that they were " trying to collect a debt. '' I 've received four such messages since then, including today ( over two months since paying the debt in full ) and the messages sound like robocalls and are very generic ( not stating my name or the name of the merchant they are calling on behalf of ). I do not currently owe debt to XXXX or to anyone else. I pay my accounts in full and on time. " Merchants Credit '' is therefore making continued attempts to collect debt I do not owe. I have not returned their calls because of this fact and I would like their calls to stop.
