Complaint #1728434 submitted on 01/05/2016 relating to Colony Brands, Inc.. Complaint relates to Credit card - Other .

Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Tuesday 12th January 2016.

Narrative (may be redacted).

I 'm writing my complaint against Seventh Avenue , Inc 's violations of incomplete/missing reporting to credit bureaus. I 'm aware that there are no regulations or requirements for a creditor to report information to credit bureaus. However, I am also fully aware that Seventh Avenue does, in fact, have an established relationship with the credit reporting agencies and does report delinquencies on consumer accounts. Therefore, Seventh Avenue is a furnisher of information, by definition, as they do report and provide consumer information to be included on a consumer credit report. The credit reporting agencies have informed me that they can not help me with this issue.
I have called Seventh Avenue and have spoken to representatives requesting the reporting of my account to credit agencies of my long, excellent standing relationship with their company. During these conversations, I was informed that Seventh Avenue only reports when a consumer is delinquent. Being a customer since 2006, I 've never been delinquent. Therefore, my credit report does not show any activity or information for this company whatsoever. This is unfair, and unjust to me as a consumer, as the only way for this account to show up on my credit report with the longevity that it has is to encounter a delinquency. I do not have an accurate portrayal of my credit worthiness on my credit reports that reflect my excellent standing with this company, although they are currently a furnisher of information.
I feel Seventh Avenue to be violating several codes due to the fact this company is only willing to offer and report partial information of account delinquencies, meaning by definition would be incomplete information regarding a credit account. I feel it to be very unfair that Seventh Avenue initially used information from my credit report to determine my credit worthiness when obtaining my open credit account with them, ( and made other credit decisions with that information as well ), but yet refuses to report my excellent standing for my credit worthiness.
Under several codes, and by this company choosing to be a furnisher of information, Seventh Avenue has a duty and requirement to have and use " reasonable '' policies and procedures regarding furnishing information to the credit reporting agencies. The accuracy and integrity requirements are under question with Seventh Avenue as they are not providing accurate consumer account performance as a company who currently does provide information to credit reporting agencies. Their current way of business of only reporting delinquency, and not full performance, is not " reasonable ''. This is an omission of information pursuant to providing accurate consumer account performance, therefore, incomplete information by a company who has chosen and who does currently furnish information.
For Seventh Avenue to only " pick and choose '' what it reports from a consumer account when it has chosen to be a furnisher of information is not fair, just, or right to the consumer. I feel it to be an " all or nothing '' issue. Either they choose not to be a furnisher of any information, or they provide a full, accurate consumer performance for all account holders. As it currently stands, for this account to show up on my credit reports to show and prove my excellent credit worthiness with this company with a credit account of longevity since 2006, I would have to first become delinquent. However, if I become delinquent to allow Seventh Avenue to furnish the account information, I harm my credit worthiness. As a consumer proving my credit worthiness on my credit reports, I should not have to " pick and choose '' between the two. As it currently stands, a company who is already a furnisher of information but only reports as it wishes, is reporting inaccurately and incompletely of consumer performance and information.
