I applied for and was approved for a loan with Avant Credit, issued by XXXX on or around XXXX of this year. At time of application/approval, terms such as high interest rate of 35.94 % were not disclosed. Rate was learned about after reviewing terms on company web-site recently, it did not show previously. Had I known about such a high rate, I would not have applied. I borrowed XXXX and will be paying more than double that at end of 60 month term, this is ridiculously high.
After doing some research, it appears Avant charges everyone the same flat rate, regardless of credit score/worthiness. My score at time of application was in the mid to high XXXX range and my rate should not be so high, there seems to be something shady going on here. A number of XXXX reviews show a large number of negative reviews about Avant, most about high interest rate. I spoke with a XXXX XXXX at Avant and was not able to resolve matter, he defended the rate and claimed to have screen shots showing terms, rate, etc. There is no way he can show/prove what was shown to me on my end/my computer screen, at time of application.
This is XXXX of several complaints filed, previous complaints were referred to FDIC, Avant stated they received a similar complaint from them as well and replied. I have received no reply from FDIC in regard to this matter. If AvantXXXX thinks I will pay over XXXX in interest, more than the loan principle, they are sadly mistaken.
