I owed XXXX to American Express. On XX/XX/2015 I wired XXXX to settle the account. the law firm accepted the settlement and forwarded the funds to American Express. The payment posted and a few days later Amex sent me a bill for XXXX due XX/XX/2015. Their online system still reports that I currently owe them XXXX and that amount is reporting to all XXXX credit bureaus. I have disputed with all three and Amex confirmed to them I still owe the money. I have called Amex multiple times and every time a get a different answer. They said the account has been settled but their system wont show it for 60 days? Am I going to get a late payment reported to my credit report on XX/XX/XXXX? How come I was sent a bill and why is it reporting to the credit bureau incorrectly? I have a job renewal that requires a credit report and I was told to have this account settled, which i did, but can not prove it. The letter from the attorney XXXX office is not complying with what Amex is telling the credit bureau when i dispute it? this is a huge problem for me.
