Complaint #1691834 submitted on 12/10/2015 relating to ATG Credit, LLC. Complaint relates to Debt collection Other (i.e. phone, health club, etc.) - Disclosure verification of debt Right to dispute notice not received.
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Thursday 10th December 2015.
I contracted XXXX services in my residence through XXXX XXXX back in XXXX. For installation services, they claim they sent me an invoice for XXXX {$49.00} by mail. I never received such invoice. I receive several bills by mail and never failed in promptly paying any bill I received. As a customer of XXXX, I requested, in at least XXXX occasion, support services from XXXX during the period I had XXXX in my apartment. Support services were provided normally and no debt was ever mentioned. If I was in debt with the company and they had that in their system, why is it that I requested a service and the service was rendered without ever mentioning any debt?
Now, 6 months after I canceled XXXX services, and more than one year after the installatoion date in XXXX, an open collection account with XXXX is showing in my credit report. I chatted with a representative of the company and they told me the invoice was sent in XXXX ( the XXXX I never received ). XXXX has always had my address, e-mail address, phone number and, more importantly, a valid credit card on file. Why is it that they never sent me any communication, verbal or written, that I had an active debt of XXXX {$49.00} so I could pay for it. Why have they never charged my credit card they had on file for the XXXX {$49.00}. Why have n't they refused to offer me support service if I had an open debt with them? When I asked their customer service representative, the only answer I got is that an invoice was sent to me, once, in XXXX. And with that, they assumed I was a bad payer ( even knowing that I paid all XXXX monthly fees on time for the 7 months I had the service. This is absurd.
They sent my debt for collection to ATG Credit. After chatting with XXXX 's customer service representative, I then immediately called ATG Credit and paid for the pending XXXX {$49.00}. I also queried ATG 's customer service representative about their having to notify me before hitting my credit file with an open collection account. They claim they also sent me a letter. I never got this either. I honestly doubt any letter was sent. Again, I would never ignore or fail paying any open debt I knew I had. I have virtually no debt. I carry no credit card balances ( I pay all balances monthly ) and have XXXX leases I pay religiously every month.
After the collections account was sent to Equifax, my credit was hit by XXXX points because of that. This is not fair. I can not pay a debt I never knew I had.
Now I am shopping for a home and was looking for alternatives to get a mortgage. These XXXX points can considerably increase the financial cost of a mortgage loan.
