Complaint #1795874 submitted on 02/19/2016 relating to Experian. Complaint relates to Credit reporting - Incorrect information on credit report Information is not mine.
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Friday 19th February 2016.
I am a victim of identity theft. I sent in to the credit bureau a copy of my identity theft report, police report and a letter detailing the fraudulent items that I requested to be blocked from reporting on my report. Some items were blocked, however, not all of them listed in my letter and in the police report were. There are XXXX tax liens and a bankruptcy that is being reported in error on my report. I have never filed bankruptcy, nor have I had any tax liens against me. I contacted the courts directly and was told that they do not report to credit bureaus and that I would have to deal directly with Experian, as the other credit bureaus blocked the fraudulent reporting. Upon contacting Experian, I was told that they verified the accounts and will continue to report them. How can they verify them with the courts, if the courts do not report to them or communicate with them? I do n't understand why Experian insists on reporting fraudulent information at my expense.
