Credit card

Complaint #1688505 submitted on 12/08/2015 relating to Amex. Complaint relates to Credit card - Advertising and marketing .

Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Wednesday 30th December 2015.

Narrative (may be redacted).

XXXX XXXX Attn : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MD XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX XXXX XXXX offers an email stock option recommendation trading service, which recommends option purchases every Friday morning before something like XXXX XXXX XXXX. The offer, which I responded to was four weeks for the price of one week with an automatic renewal at {$79.00} per month. They also warn that there are no refund if the automated renewal is executed.

As I enrolled after XXXX XXXX. XXXX on XXXX XXXX, 2015, my first set of recommendations came on XXXX XXXX, the second on XXXX XXXX, the third on XXXX XXXX, and the fourth and final set on XXXX XXXX. On XXXX XXXX, which was a Sunday, they charged my credit card the {$79.00}.

My complaint is 1 ) as they know that they will not give refunds on the automatic charges 2 ) as they provide us the recommendations via our email address Why do n't they email us a reminder that they are going to submit the {$79.00} charge, especially to senior citizens like my self, who get distracted and forget. Also, the first set of recommendations under the {$79.00} would have been Friday XXXX XXXX, 2015, so they could have email a reminder. Also, they use a third party payment processing company. I called that company and requested that they have someone from XXXX XXXX call me. That never happened and my credit card company was unable to get them to issue me a refund.
