Back in XXXX XXXX, 2015, I applied online for American Express Business Gold Rewards card ( ref : XXXX ). Back then Amex was offering XXXX membership rewards points as a sign up bonus. My application said it needs to be reviewed, so I called Amex to speak with a credit analyst who approved the application. I checked several times with Amex representative to make sure that the sign up bonus was correct ( XXXX ) and Amex representative confirmed it. However, when I met the required spending Amex only awarded XXXX points claiming that that was the sign up bonus on my application. Multiple calls to Amex failed to make any progress. I asked to pull conversation tapes from approval call, but Amex claims they ca n't locate the tapes. I also provided Amex the screenshot of the offer I originally applied online.

The difference of XXXX points can be valued at $ XXXX-XXXX depending on point valuation applied, so it 's quite a lot.
