Complaint #1792224 submitted on 02/17/2016 relating to Experian. Complaint relates to Credit reporting - Credit reporting company's investigation Investigation took too long.
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Monday 22nd February 2016.
Hello, I am not certain this complaint is being posted in the correct area, but this is the closest area I could find related to my complaint. My complaint concerns the credit score reductions for no legitimate reason.Let me start by saying, I am not understanding why my credit score declines if someone simply inquires as to what it is. If my credit score is XXXX and someone runs my credit to see if I qualify for credit with them, it brings my score down XXXX points. Which now means my score is XXXX. This seems so unfair to me. A credit score should be diminished for failure to pay, slow payment, or bankruptcy. A credit score should not be decreased because someone inquires as to what it is. Example : : I decide to purchase a home, they run my credit, it is XXXX, borderline fair and poor. That lender is not meeting my needs and I decide to change lenders, and the new lender runs my credit and it has gone down XXXX points to XXXX which is now reflect the score as poor, which now means I ca n't get a house at all because my score has to be at least XXXX. I have not done anything wrong to cause this. I have not failed to pay anyone, or been delinquent with any payments. It 's as though you 're taking away my right to change my mind, and destroying my chance at home ownership just because of a credit inquiry. It does not seem to me that the services are making any money when a business inquires as to what your score is. If that is not correct, please enlighten me. This is a matter that needs some serious revamping, not later but as soon as possible. It is unfair to all consumers, whether the credit score is XXXX or XXXX.
I will be sending this request for change to you every day until my voice is heard and also looking for other sources to voice my complaint to in the meantime.
Thank you,
