I recently pulled my credit report and noticed numerous violations of the FCRA and numerous state and federal laws that protect consumers. I also understand that about 89 % of all credit reports contain inaccurate, misleading and unverifiable information on them. It has also come to my knowledge that systems used by the credit bureaus such as XXXX XXXX do not protect the consumer as well, they just allow some companies to verify a debt whether or not it is true. My credit file contains a public record/judgment that is NOT verifiable and does NOT belong to me. I have already made several attempts with this company ( Kimball Tirey & St. John ) to provide proof that this debt belongs to me, to no avail. It was also brought to my knowledge that the court houses do not report, nor verify this type of public record with any collection agency nor have they ever reported such information on any consumer. This is really disturbing to find out that the collections companies like this XXXX lie and falsify documents to credit agencies to make a quick buck. It is my knowledge that these violations are punishable in a court of law by {$1000.00} per violation. This does n't even include court fees, attorney fees and punitive damages that a consumer may seek to hold the company in violation of fraud for lying and falsifying these misleading documents. After contacting several different FCRA attorneys willing to seek these damages free of charge, I choose not to ( for now ) but would like to resolve this in a civil matter.
