A few years ago ( between XXXX and mid XXXX ) i took out a payday loan from Payday America inc in XXXX XXXX mn. I failed to pay the loan back on its due date but paid it during tax time around XXXX XXXX. I went in to the location i originally took out the loan with my mother, there they told me that everything was fine and rushed me off never giving me a receipt. from then on i kept receiving calls from collectors saying that i never paid and demanding that i do so. When i tell them that i have already paid, they call me a liar and usually would hang up the phone on me. i was threatened with a lawsuit last year in which they told me that if i did n't pay the fees would be greater. i freaked out and paid {$250.00} on a {$410.00} bill. Again no reciept when i requested XXXX they said it was in the mail and left it as that. I also informed them that i was going through a hard time financially and that i was unsure of when i could give them the rest reiterating that i had already paid this debt. now i just received another letter threatening to sue me for XXXX dollars. i am already drowning, attempting to care for my XXXX XXXX sister and my XXXX mother, as well as my XXXX children. i feel that they are trying to take more than they are owed and its not right, even when i made a good will effort to pay a debt that had already been paid off.
