My husband has four years of spotless payments to Carmax with XXXX late payment. Even though we called and explained the issue was due to a problem with the on-line system they refuse to adjust it. This would n't be such a big deal except it 's the ONLY thing on his credit that 's stopping us from qualifying for a home loan with his VA benefits. The car started breaking down about four months in. It has issues with XXXX overheating and despite the fact that we purchased the extended warranty they only paid for about half the repairs ( it still is n't fixed ). I ca n't believe that given our flawless history, our customer loyalty, and the fact that my husband is a XXXX military veteran, Carmax wo n't work with us in any fashion to resolve this issue. I REALLY expected that there would be SOME way we could resolve this, but I have heard from XXXX different reps that there 's nothing they can do, even though I KNOW differently. The initial phone rep I spoke to lied to me saying it was " illegal '' for Carmax to adjust the late pay on his credit, it took them a full week and about XXXX posts to XXXX to even get a call back from anyone.
