3 years ago we moved and our final bill was paid to XXXX. A few months later I received a bill from a collection agency in the amount of {$280.00} on behalf of XXXX. I immediately contacted them and told them I paid this to XXXX. Back and forth between them and XXXX, XXXX states they did not receive my last payment. At that point I paid this to XXXX XXXX XXXX. It is still showing as a collection account and the terms are showing one month. My wife keeps calling this company asking them to remove this and they keep shutting her down and stating you knew you were calling a collection agency and you paid a collection agency! We paid it because we had no choice because XXXX asked us to. My wife was told this account was not being reported because it was less than a month. We paid this account immediately when we found this error. This is hindering my ability to obtain a mortgage all over {$280.00}! I need this removed and I can not get anywhere with this company. They are ignorant and treat my wife like she is a low life who does not pay the bills. I do not have any other negative information on my credit report but this. It has been 3 years and they are still reporting negative information all for {$280.00} that was paid immediately.
