I purchased renters insurance from XXXX, policy # XXXX earlier this year. I could not afford to make the monthly payments and allowed the policy to lapse. I just received a notice today from Credit Collection Services ( XXXX ) XXXX file # XXXX XXXX XXXX stating that I owed a payment of {$29.00} for XXXX. I asked why I received this and was told I was covered up until that time even though I have not made a payment in months. I pulled out my policy, contacted XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX asked if they could direct me to where it states if I discontinue payments they could expect payment and/or collections for non payment. I was told it is not in their policy.
