Debt collection Medical

Complaint #1563840 submitted on 09/14/2015 relating to California Recovery Bureau, Inc.. Complaint relates to Debt collection Medical - Improper contact or sharing of info Talked to a third party about my debt.

Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Monday 14th September 2015.

Narrative (may be redacted).

I was reviewing my credit report today. I saw there is a medical collection on my credit report from a visit in XX/XX/XXXX. I called both the collection agency and the hospital and they stated that the office mailed the XXXX invoices to my ex-husband 's address, in stead of to mine. They called my ex-husband 's number instead of mine. My ex-husband and I have not lived in the same home since XX/XX/XXXX. I have never lived at his current address. I was never notified of the debt. While this was an innocent mistake, the account is now in collection and on my credit report and I never knew about it. In fact the collection agency never contacted me. I contacted both XXXX and California Recovery Bureau to have this removed from my credit report and while they admit it was a mistake, they have not offered to remove it from my credit report. I have offered to pay the bill in both cases. XXXX will be calling the collection agency tomorrow to see if anything can be done. What is my recourse if they still will not remove the tradeline from my credit report?
