Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Monday 14th September 2015.
I received a demand for payment from a collection agency named Monterey Collections and sent them a notice that I did not want to work with them by sending them a certified letter notifing them that under provisions of Public Laws 95-109 and 99-361, also known as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, that their services were no longer desired.
I informed them in my certified letter to them that failure to comply with this law will result in my immediately filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the California Attorney General 's office. I also told them that I will pursue all criminal and civil claims against them and their company for refusal to adhere to this request.
I am filing this complaint to follow through with my stated action I would take against them for violating this law.
