On XXXX/XXXX/2015, I applied for a personal loan through Avant, also known as XXXX. I applied through this lender due to successfully receiving and paying off a loan with them previously. That evening I followed up via telephone to ensure the bank had all needed documents from me ; upon completing my application earlier that day their Web based system notified me that I would receive a response in XXXX hours. During my XXXX phone conversation I was told that no other items were needed from me and I would receive a decision within XXXX hours. ON XXXX I called avant XXXX different times and they gave me a different answer each time as to why the process was delayed. I then grew concerned that my personal information was compromised because I was getting conflicting stories each time I contacted avant. I followed up again on XXXX and was told by a manager " there was a system error directly affecting my application '' but refused to tell me what the issue was. I grew ever more increasingly concerned that the issue might truly be nefarious in nature and that the lender may be illegally and unethically using my personal private information. I was assured upon asking that my information was indeed safe but the representatives would not expand on how my information was being protected and refused to explain to me how my personal information was safe from this " system issue directly affecting my application ''. I followed up once again on XXXX ( bear in mind, I was told on Thursday XXXX/XXXX/15 that I would receive an approval or denial decision within XXXX hours and as I am filing this complaint it has been going on over XXXX hours ) and spoke to XXXX who had been a representative I had spoke with several days ago. When I had spoken with her on XXXX she told me all needed documentation was in and verified and that I would for sure have a decision by the next day. This time on XXXX, XXXX informed me that there was in fact a system glitch holding up my application and affecting my personal information. She said the system glitch was directly related to my personal loan application. I repeatedly expressed to her my growing concerns about the safety of my information and was each time simply apologized to. I continued to tell her that I did not need an apology but wanted a specific answer to what precisely the glitch was and how exactly it was affecting my personal application which contained my personal information. The representative refused to explain the glitch and each time basically told me that I should take her word that my information was safe. My complaint is in regards to how this lender is handling my personal information. They have refused to disclose to me facts material to my personal information. They have refused to disclose there internal safe guarding practices. They have lied, been unethical, and secretive. They never answer any questions that I ask them, only offer half hearted apologies. I firmly believe that my personal information has been compromised and I ask for Avant to be investigated.
