Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Tuesday 25th August 2015.

Narrative (may be redacted).

I received an alert from my credit monitoring system indicating adverse action on my credit report. I immediately logged-in and pulled/viewed my report and to my shock there was a collections account placed on my credit report XXXX by a company called Debt Recovery Solutions XXXX see attachment ).

I have recently experienced a breach to my checking account which caused me to sign up for this credit monitoring service. So, my anxiety is of course high in receiving this alert, as I have never had any contact with or even heard of this company or any company regarding this alleged debt.

A quick online search of this company yields hundreds of complaints from people that claim this company has taken similar action against them ; that claim the company is a defrauding and scheming to collect money from people that do not owe them.

My online search further led me here to the BBB site where there are many similar complaints also. I am greatly concerned as I do not believe I owe this debt.

Also, no one has contacted me or demonstrated that I owe any debt prior to placing this entry to my credit report. It is noted as an open/active collections account ( opened XXXX XXXX, 2015 ).

I would like this situation resolved immediately. It is greatly impacting my livelihood as well as my ability to obtain credit or loans at reasonable rates. As a result of this my credit score dropped nearly XXXX points. I would like for this company to remove this erroneous collections account from my reports as I believe it is in error.

I sent a debt validation request to the company ( see attachment ) and have yet to receive a response or any demonstration or proof that this debt is mine or why they can legally apply this to my credit bureau. If this is valid debt why not provide proof demonstrating so? this is very scary considering all the of the data and i identity breaches in the media lately. And, as I stated, My checking account was recently breached.

I also disputed this with XXXX ( see attachment ) and did not receive an adequate response or poof or demonstration that the debt is mine or that they conducted a lawful, fair and adequate investigation, or that there is a legal and reasonable right to have this on my report.

I also attempted to file a complaint for investigation & resolution with the Better Business Bureau XXXX see attachment ) and it lead no where.


In essence, it seems like both the BBB and the Credit Reporting agency is simply siding with the Collections company and no one is complying with the law or concerned with my rights under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

How am I to advocate for myself when it seems confusing and like no one is playing by the rules? Why do they not have to supply evidence and proof that I owe the alleged debt, why not provide documentation and communication there of accordingly?

For example : The better business bureau requested that I supply information to the collection agency before they would go further. Should n't the collections agency be providing this information? they must have had the information in order to add it to my credit bureau and for the credit bureau to decide it " remains '' correct?
Why am I not privy to this information?
This feels highly unethical all the way around and, it feels as if it 's meant to meant to further punish me and other citizens who are trying to exercise their rights, its seems fraudulentand illegal- like a run-around.
