Credit Management, L.P. of XXXX, TX XXXX Is attempting to collect {$220.00} on the behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX when I have not had a XXXX XXXX XXXX account in some 17-18yrs. I check my credit report on a yearly bases and never has such a debt shown up even once. Yet this company is threatening to throw this on my credit reports at a time when credit worthiness is so vastly important to so much we as a society do, home-ownership, purchasing a car, paying for our children 's college education ( in my case ) -even to the point of being hired. The purchasing of debt-old debt in most cases, and illegally re-aging or using as leverage to force those of us desperate to not take the hit to our credit-even temporarily ( for even a XXXXpoint hit for 2-3months-can hurt a person looking to buy a house at that time ) needs to be enforced harder, with bolder penalties. For these are very real lives these companies are toying with. And Credit Management has been caught enough times doing this that they should know better and not be allowed to hide behind the " Ooops! We made a mistake '' excuse, while throwing the affected consumer sideways.
