I have XXXX accounts with Bank of the West and I had a {$1600.00} hotel bill go through my checking account and posted online as XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX when it was no where to be seen on the XXXX. They are back to the old habits from the class action suit of taken the highest amount and moving it around to hit your account with the most fees. It should be just one fee for the {$1600.00} bill since I did n't transfer funds from one account to this one in time, but they shifted it to make everything else fail and left others pending to hit the following day. They would not have cashed a check and given me {$220.00} at the ATM on the XXXX if that bill had gone through on the date they claimed and I had a negative balance. The {$1600.00} bill just went through on the XXXX and the changed dates around on my online account for several items to make a killing in overdraft fees. I have been monitoring my account. Items that should have cleared days ago were then sitting pending so they can sock me again the following day. It 's class action stuff all over again.
When I tried to transfer funds from another Bank of the West account during the night to make sure I had enough in my main account so they would n't hit more overdraft fees, they stopped the transfer from happening for 6.5 hours when it has always been instantaneous since they offered online banking. Amazingly they hit me for another {$140.00} in fees and then allowed the transfer to take place. After complaining about {$280.00} in fees in 2 days that put the account negative again, they refunded {$35.00} and before I could deposit or transfer more, they took the {$35.00} back again for the day. {$310.00} for one transaction that occurred after all the others until they started juggling the dates and putting the largest one before older ones to maximize their profit.
If XXXX the accounts of people who have been with them for nearly 20 years is how they do business, they should be ashamed. I did a transfer this morning, XXXX XXXX, online before business hours and it happened immediately. Guess that 's because I already had a positive balance so their computer 's did n't automatically hold it up to get more fees like the day before. Their computer algorithms should be inspected by the government for the rigged game their bank plays.
