Complaint #1503577 submitted on 08/05/2015 relating to Jon Barry and Associates, Inc.. Complaint relates to Debt collection Medical - Communication tactics Used obscene/profane/abusive language.
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Wednesday 5th August 2015.
Apparently, a XXXX debt for my daughter XXXX XXXX adult for which I have court appointed legal guardianship ) has been turned over to this collection company. I have been paying on this debt for over two years at the agreed amount of {$50.00} per month. The collector XXXX took my statement verbally as legal guardian. When told that I have a payment agreement with the debtor and had made payments perfectly, her attitude and statement was " come on sir, we are XXXX too old for these games ''. During the call, which was on my cell phone, the sound dropped for approximately 10 seconds, after which she became extremely beligerant and stated again " we 're too old for this ''. Basically, nothing was accomplished except her implying that I am not telling the truth. I told her when I got back home I could send her the payment records. After this call, I called her supervisor and he was less than agreeable to help. After hearing that I wanted to register a complaint, he said he could not discuss my daughter 's account without proof of legal guardianship. I have the letters from the court that I could forward to him. He all but hung up on me with again no resolution. Based on his actions, I now have another complaint against the company regarding discussing the information on my daughter 's account without proof of my court appointed guardianship. The first collector freely discussed the account based on my verbal statement. The second person said they could n't do that. So someone broke the law. I guess it is their choice as to who they want to determine violated the law ... the first person or the second person.
