I was sued for an old debt that was acquired by XXXX XXXX XXXX out of XXXX Colorado. The debt collector did n't properly notify me of the debt. According to the court records, this company was already planning a lawsuit for this debt. This collector acquired this debt in XXXX of 2012 and by XXXX of that same year had already filed papers to sue me. According to the court records, I was served with papers on this debt and in XXXX, a judgement was filed against me. To my surprise this judgement was entered on a debt that was for {$9000.00} that has now swelled to about {$23000.00}. If the company had reached out prior to all of these actions validating this debt we could have reached an agreement and I would n't have a {$23000.00} judgement on my credit report.
