Complaint #1497523 submitted on 07/31/2015 relating to Altisource Portfolio Solutions, S.Ã r.l.. Complaint relates to Debt collection Credit card - Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt resulted from identity theft.
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Friday 31st July 2015.
I have been a victim of identity theft. I had filed a previous complaint against the original creditor on XX/XX/XXXX with the CFPB. CFPB Case number : XXXX was the complaint against XXXX for an XXXX XXXX credit card, account ending in XXXX, that was charged after I had lost my wallet.
On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter from XXXX stating:1. That this debt was discharged by XXXX.
2. All Charges were removed.
3. All credit reporting agencies will be notified to remove the account from my credit report.
I have since been receiving collection letters from a Nationwide Credit , Inc. on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX attempting to collect on this debt. I assumed the first XXXX letters, even though they were one day apart in their creation, were so close to the date of the discharge that Nationwide Credit , Inc. had not been notified of the decision by XXXX. When I received the letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, I can only assume that Nationwide Credit is illegally collecting on this debt.
