Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Thursday 30th July 2015.
On a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX I was contacted by Focus Financial Services for a bogus medical debt by a doctor that I had seen and paid in full at the time of service. On XX/XX/XXXX, I responded to Focus Financial Services by divulging that the debt was bogus and erroneous and asked them proof of its validity. I sent Focus Financial Services my letter via fax and certified which I received confirmation receipts from Focus Financial Services on. I never received any further communication from Focus Financial on my request for documents or anything else after I sent them my letter.
Today I was informed that Focus Financial Services reported the bogus debt under my credit profile to all three major credit agencies XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX which has now greatly affected my personal and professional perfect credit profile and caused me great emotional distress.
By doing so Focus Financial Services has failed to take the required legal steps to investigate the integrity of this debt which I am disputing under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and broke the law by reporting this bogus collection under my credit profile 10 months after the fact without contacting me and follow the proper procedures prior to doing so.
