On Wednesday XXXX at XXXX, I spoke with a XXXX XXXX XXXX Equifax , during the phone conversation I explained to her my current situation of being a vitamin of identity theft and that there were still inquiries that remained on my credit that were fraudulent. She in turn responded saying that the reason they were not removed was because they contacted XXXX and XXXX and they stated that they received a police report. However, I told her that this was to be untrue as I sent in via certified mail along with an notarized FTC affidavit listing the fraudulent inquires and a notarized consumer affidavit of identity theft. Thus far I phoned in again today XXXX @ XXXX per our phone conversation I explained to her that I had faxed over requested information to check the status and she stated that there was nothing that could be done about the fraudulent inquires as it in there policy that the grantor is the only who has the access to remove and inquiry. I then went on to explain how or why is it that Equifax is the only bureau that will not comply with the FCRA 605B ( 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2 ) regulations. I even took the liberty to print it off the FTC website upon completing my FTC affidavit and mailed it into them with the other documents. At this point I have had no progress with this expect told a bunch of different stories. They remain the only credit bureau that reports such negative items apprehending me from obtaining credit since they are a major reporting agency. I made them aware that Friday I also contacted the Attorney General 's Office for the state of Maryland where they too are baffled as to why they even have a dispute process for an inquiry if they do n't even investigate a dispute as stated as their own policy. Also there is no written policy on their website and there representative stated that she too can not find the policy, but is certain it is as such : They will not remove an inquiry as it is the job of the grantor. Today before the phone call I also contacted the XXXX of XXXX XXXX. They were referred to me by XXXX. I have written and send a formal complaint, now I submit a final complaint here to the CFPB for more a paper trail to file civil suit against Equifax for not honoring my rights under FCRA and possible others. I have been fighting this since XXXX and again they continue to report these negative hard inquires as they of not pertain to me. I have also sent letters that remain uploaded to the CFPB portal that I have filed against the companies that had relevant information to be reached at stating that they too have requested the inquiries be removed and yet they are still being reported. Again all of this information was faxed to them as requested XXXX. Please note that I have exhausted all methods to cure the matter and they refuse to do anything further. Also please take the time to see where I filed a complaint against the creditors and their responses. Most have complied and asked for the item ( s ) to be removed and XXXX is the only agency that will NOT. Lastly, I went to my local police authority once more with this same issue and they gave me another police report this time including that XXXX refuses to remove the fraudulent inquiries at first without having a police report. Now that they have the report, as of today they still say that they ca n't do it. The police report itself has not yet been generated, but I do have the report number and the officer 's name who assisted me : Ofc. XXXX XXXX # XXXX of XXXX XXXX with a phone number of ( XXXX ) XXXX. The report number is XXXX. He will be more than willing to speak of what he has reported if contacted. Also please be advised that there are other letters including XXXX from XXXX XXXX where they can not find any other record of inquiry, and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX as well.
