Complaint #1694666 submitted on 12/12/2015 relating to United Guaranty. Complaint relates to Debt collection Mortgage - Taking/threatening an illegal action Threatened to sue on too old debt.
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Saturday 12th December 2015.
On or about XXXX XXXX, XXXX United Guaranty XXXX XXXX XXXX of North Carolina paid the balance of a second mortgage on a property in which I dwelled with my former wife. On that date they sent me a letter indicating that they had accelerated the balance of the loan and that the " balance in full '' was due " no later than thirty days from XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ''.
On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I received a letter from XXXX ; a local law firm ; indicating that they were authorized to file suit against me. I requested verification of the debt by mail on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. They responded by filing suit on XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I have yet to be served a summons or receive verification.
I believe that this is a violation of multiple parts of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, not the least of which is the fact that the attorney filed suit on a debt that is time-barred under Florida law.
