Complaint #1796166 submitted on 02/19/2016 relating to Experian. Complaint relates to Credit reporting - Incorrect information on credit report Account status.
Complaint was submitted via Web and sent to the company on Friday 19th February 2016.
I use Experian and XXXX credit monitoring services and they have that my " Credit History is too short '' and that is hurting my score. My oldest account is 28 years old, my average account term, according to them, is ten years. I have numerous mortgages on properties that I have held for 15+ years, numerous credit cards that I have had for over 10 years, which I pay more than the minimum payment and all on time. I am not sure what they consider " aged accounts '', but by most standards my credit accounts are not " too short ''. I called Experian and they could not figure out why FICO considers my credit history to be " too short ''. They told me that FICO sends them that information. Instead of contacting FICO, I wanted to file a complaint as I am sure others are receiving the same status, if you will, of too short a credit history. I have excellent credit, but by FICO standards, I am just " good ''. There scoring models need to be reviewed so that it is fair for all and not something that seems to be arbitrary.
Thank you and I look forward to your response.
