I have a Citi MasterCard credit card. I have no issues paying the full amount due ( and I charge most purchases on this credit card during the month, rather than use a debit card, just for safety 's sake ) each month. However the last several months I have noticed a problem with a practice they are starting to use. My payment is due on the XXXX of the month, so I generally pay as close to that date/time as possible, to include as many of my charges as possible. Lately ( last five months ) towards the end of my cycle, many of the items I have charged are held in a pending status much longer ( 2-5 days ) than they are at the beginning of my cycle. Citi will not allow me to pay any pending amounts online, and does not include them on mailed statements -- so I have no way to pay them. When I make my payment ... a miracle happens, and all the pending amounts changed to due AFTER the end of my cycle, with no chance for me to make a second, catch-all payment ... so, they charge me interest. This seems deliberate, and simply aimed at being able to charge me interest ( as normally, they would have no unpaid amounts to charge it on ).
